Here at Ebony and Ivory motors in Scunthorpe we specialise in Seat diagnostics, we use Genuine Seat ODIS, this is the manufacturer tool the main dealer use, not only do we constantly invest in equipment to keep up to date, we invest in our technicians ensuring they have excellent knowledge to keep up to date with modern vehicle technologies, this is more important than having the top diagnostic tools and technical data on the market.
There is a misconception surrounding diagnosis on a vehicle and many believe you just plug in the magic computer and this tells you whats wrong, we wish this was the case but it's far from what's actually required, a bad diagnosis or replacing parts based on a fault code will cost you more money in the long run, this is the reason we do not offer what many refer to as a diagnostic “plug inâ€
Our process here at Ebony and Ivory is that we carry out a diagnostic assessment which includes 1 hour diagnostic time to carry out the following:
- Connect to the vehicle with ODIS
- Asses the stored fault codes
- Check for any manufacturer technical bulletins
- Create a methodical test plan to aid in an accurate 1st time and correct diagnosis
- Carry out some basic relevant tests as required
- Complete a diagnostic report with our findings and the next steps.
Once the assessment is completed we will be in touch to discuss our findings and the next steps to either repair the vehicle or discuss further diagnostic steps that could be required to ensure an accurate and correct diagnosis.
We will never progress any further than our diagnostic assessment fee without your authorisation
